Haryana Acid Attack Victim Compensation Scheme – Rs. 8000 p.m to Female Victims

Haryana government has approved Acid Attack Victim Compensation Scheme 2018. This scheme is for providing monthly financial assistance of Rs. 8000 to all female acid attack victims of the state and boys upto 18 years of age. Moreover, the state govt. will provide 100% free of cost medical treatment in any hospital. The state govt. has launched this scheme on 18 June 2018.

This “Relief and Rehabilitation of Women and Children Acid Victims” scheme will provide ad-hoc relief or medical reimbursement and rehabilitation services. All the victims (girls, women & boys upto 18 years) who have suffered this attack after 2 May 2011 will be eligible.

The severe acid attack victim will get free treatment and will be treated in disabled persons category. Medical Board of the concerned district must certify the victim in Disability Category.

Haryana Female Acid Attack Victim Compensation Scheme Features

To avail benefits, an online application must be filed either by the victim himself or on victim’s behalf where the victim is unable to make an application. The important features and highlights of this scheme are as follows:-

  • Any applicant who comes in the definition of disability will get financial assistance of Rs. 8,000 per month.
  • In addition to this, The state govt. would ensure that all the female acid attack victims would receive free medical treatment. It also includes medicine, food, bedding, plastic or reconstructive surgery from any government or government approved hospitals.
  • Moreover, acid attack victims would also be given preference in allotment of fair price shops by the Food and Supply Department.
  • Govt. will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to the victims within 15 days of such an incident. The concerned deputy commissioner will provide Rs. 25,000 as an adhoc relief amount. Women and Child Dept. will provide the remaining 75,000 amount within 15 days.

There is also a provision which will ensure that no medical hospital, govt. owned / privately owned can deny specialize or any form of treatment on any ground.
