PM Ujjwala Yojana Launched in Madhya Pradesh

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) has been launched in Madhya Pradesh by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at Shahdol in the presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

At the event in Shahdol, the launch of PMUY was marked by distributing the LPG connections to women from BPL families.

As said by the Chief Minister of MP, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is an excellent scheme and it fulfills the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister to provide clean fuel to the BPL families and is a boon to women to experience cooking without smoke.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the state government aims to provide 35 Lakh connections to BPL households in next three years. 15 Lakh connections will be distributed to non BPL families as a part of providing clean fuel in the state. The total number of LPG consumers in the state is targeted to reach 120 Lakh from current 70 Lakh in next three years.

PMUY, the centrally sponsored scheme is aimed at providing LPG connections to the 5 Crore BPL households across the country in next three years. The central government will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 1600/- per connection per household.

A total budget of Rs. 8000 crores has been set by the central government to run the scheme. The BPL families for distribution of LPG connection will be selected based on the SECC-2011 data. The application forms of Ujjwala Yojana can be downloaded online or obtained from the LPG distributors in your city.
