State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) will be distributing 9 Watt LED bulbs in the capital city from July onward. The LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulbs will be available to both the home consumers as well as to commercial entities at same rates.

Under the central Governments’s UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LED’s for All), government will distribute 9 watt LED bulbs in Delhi at discounted prices.

Earlier, 7 Watt LED bulbs were being distributed under the scheme which will no longer be available for sale. The consumers who already bought these 7 watt LED bulbs and facing some issues can get those replaced from dedicated replacement centers.

The new 9 watt LED bulbs are technically superior than the earlier ones and each bulb can help save anywhere between Rs. 160 to Rs. 400 per year. The life expectancy of the bulb is 25000 hours, making the cost recovery in less than one year.

The Ujala LED scheme will be implemented across 87 circles in Delhi. Under the Ujala Scheme, over 66 lakh LED bulbs have already been distributed resulting in an annual energy saving of 86 crore kWh.

As per the Ujala online dashboard, 12,37,51,757 LED bulbs have been distributed across the country till June 28.

Dear all, I have come up with an innovative concept to save electricity through school children. Since 2012 I am doing this activity… children are provided with a energy saving data card and told them to save electricity at their home. Who ever saves more will be awarded… it’s a competition called Best energy saver award. The children compares and finds a difference with a slight concentration.. we distributed more than one lakh cards in Andhra Pradesh and found on an average of 30 units per family/child. We spend Rs.10 to save 10 units of electricity and habituate the children cannot be compared with cost. I am doing the activity with our UK based company CSR activity.. we started in bengaluru with Adamya chetana foundation… Mrs Tejaswini has taken the initiative and distributed 50,000 cards to children this year. Another 50,000 is in pilielinein Delhi with kejriwal government… this activity has received LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS on energy conservation… can anybody compare and see how good is this activity compared with led bulbs distribution… educating and motivating an un employee is better than giving money… please visit http://www.ecmi.in for details.. I have visited EESL office and I could not any response.. trying with this post if I can get any support…00919003837053
